Keeping things sweet, but oh so healthy with this Fiery Golden Mango Tonic. Freshly brewed chamomile tea infused with spicy ginger and mixed with sweet mango juice, freshly squeezed lemon, plenty of antioxidant-rich turmeric, and spicy cayenne pepper. Add a splash of vodka – if you’d like, or keep this as an alcohol-free “mocktail”. Then simply top off with sparkling water for a little fizz. This fiery tonic is delicious and guaranteed to give your immune system a healthy boost…something we could all use right now!
Ingredients
Switching up the average Tuesday post today and sharing a fun, but oh so healthy, drink recipe with you guys!
Typically, I like to share out drinks on Saturdays, but this drink just feels a little different, and much more fitting for today. Heck, who am I kidding, everything feels a little different these days, I mean right? How weird is it that so many us don’t have work for at least two weeks? How bizarre that schools have been completely shut down? And now, at least here, all public retail, bars, and restaurants have been ordered to close. Yes, the world is surely different right now, but I’m hoping that HBH will become your safe space. And that the recipes I share here will provide you all with at least a little comfort…and plenty of deliciousness.
Of course.
Which brings me to this fiery golden mango tonic. I made this only a few days ago, inspired by all the craziness beginning to take place. I thought an immune-boosting drink felt very, very fitting for this week. It can be a boozy cocktail or an equally delicious “mocktail”. No matter which way you serve this up, it’s going to provide you with a much-needed health boost. Something I think we can all appreciate right now.
As with most drink recipes, this is pretty simple, but it’s also not your average tonic.
Step One
The first step is to brew a batch of chamomile tea. This is the time of year when fresh chamomile is popping up like wildflowers in our local Whole Foods. It always inspires me to incorporate freshly brewed chamomile tea into my recipes. It’s a subtle flora tea that has notes of sweet honey. It’s not overpowering in any way, so I found it to be the perfect base for this drink.
Steep the tea with fresh ginger, then simply add in honey to sweeten things up. Bring the water and ginger to a boil. Then, add the tea and cover and steep for 5-10 minutes. Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher or glass jug.
Step Two
Next, add in the ground turmeric and a pinch of cayenne pepper to the pitcher. Stir in a little vodka if you’d like this drink to go the cocktail route, then sweet mango juice, lemon, and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Stir well and add honey if needed.
Chill this mix until you are ready to serve, then pour over ice and top with sparkling water. Complete!
Simple, easy, and so very healthy.
I know this drink sounds maybe a little too healthy, but you guys, this is honestly so GOOD. The mango pairs so well with the turmeric and ginger and its sweetness cancels out the heat from the cayenne. This fun tonic has just the right amount of spicy kick. Of course, you can always adjust the heat level by adding more or less cayenne to your taste.
You can make this fiery golden mango tonic as a large batch drink or as a small portion to serve one or two. The larger batch will keep in the fridge for up to one week, perfect if you want to sip on this throughout the week. Yes, this is a great random weekday night drink that packs a healthy punch.
As you can tell from the ingredients (and even just the vibrant color), this tonic is packed with vitamin C and plenty of antioxidants. It’s perfect for warding off any oncoming signs of sickness and for keeping our immune systems strong. YES. PLEASE.
The key ingredients? Honey, ginger, turmeric, cayenne, lemon, and apple cider vinegar have all been said to help build a healthy immune system. As for the optional vodka? Well, life is all about balance…do what works best for you.
So, yes, this is not your average Tuesday recipe, but I’m hoping you’ll find this one just as delicious, sweet, and exciting as I do.
And let’s just be real, I think our Tuesday could use a little something fun today. This is just the drink to do that – ENJOY!

Hi Jessica,
I would just simply swap the vodka for tequila:) Let me know if you give this recipe a try, I hope you love it! Cheers! xT

on my 5th batch of this elixir-minus the vodka. I add in a few other immunity supporting herbs I have on hand & keep it in the fridge. it is great mixed into green tea for a healthy immune supporting drink. thanks so much for posting it.
Thank you Suzanne! I am so glad this turned out so well for you! xTieghan
Anything with a cup and a half of vodka sounds darn good to me right now! I donโt have all the ingredients but enough to give it a go. Iโm going to try to sub fresh squeezed orange juice for the mango – our oranges are in full swing here is San Diego and I have a feeling it will be a good match. Maybe topped off with a dollop of coconut cream. Thanks for this. Definitely needed this today!
Haha so glad you like this! And I hope it turns out amazing for you Heather! Thank you! xTieghan
i really enjoyed this drink and even just the possibility that it could boost my immune system made me feel better ๐ Stay healthy everyone!
Thank you so much Melissa! I am so glad this turned out so well for you! xTieghan
I made this a couple of days ago using 1/2 cup of rakija instead of 1.5 cups of vodka! Still strong and delicious! 1.5 cups of vodka would be way too much. Good recipe with that adjustment.
Thank you so much Dragana! xTieghan
Tieghan! Dying to make this but canโt find PURE mango juice- what brand do you usually buy? Thanks!!
HI! I make my own by blending up 3-4 super ripe mangos until pureed, then stain out a little of the pulp, as desired. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you!! xTieghan
