Happy Thanksgiving week! I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that Thanksgiving is this week. Do I feel prepped and ready? Absolutely not, but I’m excited! It has been the craziest week of travel with the book launch, but also the most exciting week!
I kicked off the first week of the book tour in New York with a Satellite Media Tour, a live segment on GMA, a segment on Live with Kelly and Mark, two book signings, multiple interviews, a few meetings, a celebratory dinner at The Mark, and then a flight to Washington DC for a conversation at Sixth & I with Erin Coma, then drinks to follow. I was up early the next morning for a flight to Atlanta, a signing at Crate & Barrel, and then a very late flight home to Colorado for a few days at home to celebrate the holiday with my family.
It was the craziest week, but honestly, I want to do it all again. I had so much fun meeting you all and finally getting to share Quick & Cozy with the world. It’s surreal, and I’ve been having pinch-me moments every single day this past week!
The response to the new book has been the most amazing! I love seeing so many of you cooking from it and even planning your holiday meals! Itโs just the best feeling!!
Happy to be home to enjoy Thanksgiving with the family we have here in Colorado this week! Weโre split between Colorado and California but we will all be together for Christmas!
What are your plans for the holidays? Hoping whatever they are, that youโre looking forward to them! I think the holidays can be a lot of added stress for some but I hope that youโre able to embrace the magic that holidays can offer!
Ok, I think thatโs all I have for today! Keep an eye out for some last-minute holiday dishes this week! And have the happiest Thanksgiving!!

I’ve gathered a few favorites I’ve shared over the years! Please leave any holiday questions for me in the comments. I’m excited to help you with holiday entertaining this seasonโit’s my favorite time of year!
Cooking Tip:ย If youโre still planning your menu, make things easy and have every guest or family member pick a side to bring so everyone has a dish they love and are excited about on the table. Donโt feel like you have to stick to certain dishes just to keep with tradition. Only make the dishes you and your guests really love!
Entertaining Tip:ย Useย Kraft Paper Placemats for easy cleanup, guests can write what theyโre thankful for on them. Alternatively, have place cards made for each guest. Ask them a question like, what are you most looking forward to this holiday season? Have fun with the questions, they can be great conversation starters.
Orย try thisย for a smaller crowd. Really such a sweet idea!
Cooking Tip:ย Donโt be afraid of using store-bought items to make your life easier (puff pastry, pie crusts, etc). Puff pastry and pre-made pie dough are my go-to this time of year. And Iโve heard Trader Joeโs has amazing appetizer options for you all too!
Cooking Tip:ย Make aย breakfast casserole,ย orย cinnamon rollsย the day before so you can enjoy an easy and low-maintenance breakfast to start the day.
Hosting Tip: Ask everyone to bring their own containers for taking home leftovers or buy anย affordable set of to-go containersย for people to take home.
Cooking Tip: Instead of making individual cocktails, make a big batch or a punch for guests to enjoy. This will save time and money!ย Try my favorite Thanksgiving punch or Thanksgiving Cranberry Cobbler Punch! Or and of theseย Thanksgiving cocktails.
Entertaining Tip:ย Set aside a table for the kids with coloring books, games, and kid-friendly appetizers while they wait for dinner. I love this vintageย Candy Land,ย and theย Christmas puzzle is fun,ย too.
Cooking Tip:ย Use crockpots, Instapots, Airfryers, toaster ovens, and all your kitchen appliances to maximize oven space and be efficient with your time!
Hosting Tip: Set the table the night before or even a few days before. Itโs one less thing to worry about on the day of. That way, you can focus on the food and enjoy the day.
Hosting Tip: Start Thanksgiving Day with a clean slate. Head out for a morning walk, empty your dishwasher and kitchen trash can, and go the extra mile by lining your bins with extra garbage bags. That way, you wonโt have to hunt down a fresh bag when the garbage piles up.

Thank you so very much, Lori!! I appreciate you following along! Happy Thanksgiving! xxT
Happy Sunday and Happy Thanksgiving week!! Loved seeing you on Live this week. I canโt wait to try out your cheesecloth method when I cook my turkey. And Iโm doing smaller pieces instead of a whole bird too, very smart! What was it like meeting Cher?? Any pics you can share?
Hi Tieghan and HBH community! I was looking forward to buying the new cookbook for holiday presents, but the amazon reviews have me a bit hesitant. Does everyone feel that the recipes are brand new and different enough from what is posted on the blog? Iโd hate to spend money on recipes I could get for free. Would love to know everyoneโs experiences with the book thus far. Thanks in advance!
Iโm guessing most of the Amazon reviews are from the hatersโฆ Also I find a cookbook entirely different then cooking from blog recipes!
I was hoping that was the case but several reviews came from verified purchases. I donโt blocked those would be the alleged haters. Have you tried the book and recipes, Joe? What has your experience been?
I would like to know this too. It feels like any reviews that are less than glowing are dismissed as haters, but no one is perfect all the time and I appreciate all viewpoints.
Since the over the top hate comments are from “verified buyers” claiming they will return the book, this tracks perfectly. Don’t underestimate the amount of effort the haters go to to try to cancel her. Their vitriol knows no boundaries.
Carol, the recipes are mostly new, some of them are old favorites revamped. I have the book, have made four recipes from it thus far – all excellent.
Joe, I have her previous three cookbooks but have held back on this one until I can preview it myself at a book store or library. Why do you think any non-positive reviews are disingenuous? Not everything is a home run even from authors we love. The reviews I have read have been mixed.
Do you have a card with your local library system? I suggest checking it out – this is a great way to try out cookbooks before committing to a purchase!
Hey Carol!! All recipes are new and some recipes are inspired from the website, but I think made even more delicious and doable for the cookbook! Of course I am biased, but I really love all of the recipes and LOVE this cookbook! My favorite! Hope you will enjoy it too! Happy thanksgiving!!
Congratulations on your new cookbook! I was in NYC recently too (also from Colorado), love the energy there! I hope youโre getting a chance to do all the touristy things, Broadway shows, a walk in Central Park, etc! Enjoy!
Thanks so much, Erin!! I’m so glad you enjoyed your time in NYC, it is the best this time of year! Happy Thanksgiving! xT
Hi Tieghan. Love your new cookbook and canโt wait to try many of the recipes. Since they donโt appear on your website, just wanted to say we made the Cheeseburger Pasta last night and that it was delicious, actually one of the best pasta dishes Iโve ever had!
Hi Helen,
Yay!! I’m so glad you enjoyed the pasta, thanks for making it! I appreciate you ordering the cookbook:) Happy Thanksgiving! xx
Happy Sunday! Random question but I know you talk about your mom as your business partner so Iโm wondering why she never travels on work trips with you for meetings and why she hasnโt joined for book signings/the celebratory dinner in New York? Feels like something the whole team should get to enjoy, no? ๐
Hey Rose! We actually havenโt done any celebratory dinners but will celebrate on Thanksgiving! My mom is a busy women with 8 kids and then of course my dad! Traveling together is tricky! We prefer to travel as a family versus together for work as our time is better spent and more valued this way. Happy thanksgiving to you and your family!!
This year will you share pictures of your Thanksgiving meal and tablescape? No need to share pictures of guests, just food and decor.
Hi Hattie,
I can try to share a little over on IG, but I might just enjoy the day with family:) Happy Thanksgiving! xx
I hope you can spare a few minutes to snap some pics. I love seeing how food bloggers do the holidays. Thanksgiving must be like your Super Bowl!
It would be so wonderful to see your Thanksgiving table scape as well as what you have chosen to cook for your family. You have listed so many recipes and options under your Thanksgiving post so it would be great to see which ones you think are special favourites for your family. You donโt even need to include people in your photos. Happy Thanksgiving!
Love all your books and the new one came on the 19th. I have already made the loaded potato soup and it was delicious. I did add celery and broccoli to it. Keep up the great work and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Jo
Hi Jonette,
Love to hear this! Thanks so much for ordering the book and I’m so glad you are already putting it to use! Happy Thanksgiving! xxT
Tieghan, love the skirt and sheer blouse combo in the first pic – you look stunning! Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving *(Canadian here ๐). I always enjoy your Sunday posts and find either a recipe I need to try right away or a tip/take away. Your Sunday messages are enjoyable as I sip a cup of tea and relax in the quiet of the early morning.
Thank you for your positive energy and great recipes.
